May 12, 2022 -- Toronto -- Ecopia AI announced today that it won the Technology Innovation award at this year’s Geospatial World Forum in Amsterdam, the Netherlands - recognizing the global success of its AI-based mapping technology.

Ecopia is on a mission to create a digital twin of the earth. By applying advanced AI-based mapping systems to mine high-resolution geospatial imagery, Ecopia has developed the unique capability of outputting highly-accurate, comprehensive, up-to-date vector maps on a global scale. These 2D and 3D maps form the foundation of a digital twin and are leveraged by some of the world’s largest governments, corporations, and humanitarian organizations.‍

This award specifically recognized the international impact of Ecopia’s Global Feature Extraction technology - which has been deployed to map more than 40 million square kilometers across 100 countries around the world - supporting applications that help promote economic efficiency, societal development, and environmental resiliency.  ‍

Attended by professionals representing government agencies, businesses, academia, and development agencies, the Geospatial World Forum is an impactful event representing the entire geospatial ecosystem. Abigail Coholic, Senior Director of Channel Partnerships at Ecopia, accepted the award on behalf of Ecopia AI in-person at the awards ceremony on the final day of this conference.
