Ecopia Tech Corporation (“Ecopia”) is committed to protecting the personal information that Ecopia collects through compliance with this policy (the “Privacy Policy”). Note that this Privacy Policy may be modified by Ecopia at any time without notice, therefore you should review this Privacy Policy from time to time. This Privacy Policy applies to Ecopia’s treatment of your personally identifiable information (your “Personal Information”), including any Personal Information that you may provide to Ecopia in the course of visiting our Websites (including the self-service Ecopia Platform), attending webinars or information sessions, or using our products, services, and applications (the “Services”). More information about the Ecopia Platform can be found in the Terms of Use.

By using or accessing the Services in any manner, you acknowledge that you accept the practices and policies outlined in this Privacy Policy, and you hereby consent that we will collect, use, and share your information as described in this Privacy Policy.

We do not knowingly collect or solicit any Personal Information from any person under the age of 13. If you are under 13, please do not attempt to use the Services or send any Personal Information to us.

In the course of providing the Services, Ecopia may provide you with links to third-party websites, plug-ins, services, social networks, or applications. Clicking on those links or enabling those connections may allow the third party to collect or share data about you. If you follow a link to a third-party website or engage a third-party plugin, please note that these third parties have their own privacy policies  and we do not accept any responsibility or liability for these policies. We do not control these third-party websites, and we encourage you to read the privacy policy of every website you visit.

Collection of Information

Ecopia may collect Personal Information you knowingly provide to Ecopia in the course of using or accessing the Services, such as, for example, your name, job title, contact information (such as email address, phone number, and address), billing and account information, and any other information you may choose to provide to Ecopia (for example, if you are applying for a job with Ecopia, Ecopia may also collect information relating to your academic and work history). We may communicate with you if you have provided us with the means to do so. If you do not want to receive communications from us, you can indicate your preference by responding to our communications.

Information may be collected when you register online on our websites, register for a webinar or information session, purchase any of Ecopia’s products or services, or otherwise communicate with Ecopia via email or other means. Information is collected by Ecopia to allow Ecopia to manage your account or purchases, to facilitate your access to and use of the Services, to promote Ecopia’s products or services, or for any other purpose for which you provided the information to Ecopia. You have the right at any time to stop Ecopia from contacting you for marketing or promotional purposes. If you no longer wish to be contacted for marketing or promotional purposes, please contact info@ecopiatech.com. If your request is denied, you will receive an explanation as to the reason.

When you interact with our Services, we may receive and record information on our server logs from your browser or device, which may include your IP address, “cookie” information, and other similar information. Ecopia may collect such information for the purposes of (i) tailoring content that Ecopia may provide to you, (ii) authenticating you or enabling access to information, or (iii) better understanding your digital interactions with Ecopia. In some cases, in the course of offering Services to you or otherwise in the course of our business, we may also acquire Personal Information from third parties, for example, where Ecopia is acting as a service provider to a third party or as a processor for a third party.

Under some circumstances we may anonymize your Personal Information so that it can no longer be associated with you. Disclosure to Third Parties

Ecopia may be required to disclose your information to comply with court orders, or to comply with applicable law or legal process. Ecopia may also disclose your information if Ecopia believes that such disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property or safety of Ecopia or any other party.

Ecopia may also disclose your information to: Ecopia’s subsidiaries and affiliates; Ecopia’s contractors, service providers, or other third parties who are contractually bound to protect your information and to only use your information for the purposes for which the information was disclosed;  a buyer or other successor in the event of a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, or other sale or transfer of some or all of Ecopia’s assets in which Personal Information held by Ecopia about our customers and users is among the assets transferred; or any other person or entity with your consent. Ecopia may disclose information from or about you without your consent or any other restriction, except as prohibited by applicable law, as long as this information does not personally identify you.

We may process, store, and transfer your Personal Information in and to a foreign country, with different privacy laws that may be more, less or as comprehensive as Canadian law. In these circumstances, the governments, courts, law enforcement, or regulatory agencies of that country may be able to obtain access to your Personal Information through the laws of the foreign country.

Safeguards

Ecopia protects information by using physically secure facilities, password protection, standard security practices and tools and well-defined internal policies and practices. However, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure, and Ecopia cannot guarantee the security of any information you provide to us over the internet. Any transmission of information is at your own  risk. Ecopia is not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures contained on our Websites or in other interactions and communications from you to Ecopia.

Your Rights

You are entitled to:

  • request copies of your information in Ecopia’s possession (Ecopia may charge you a fee for each request);
  • request that Ecopia complete or modify any of your information that you believe to be incomplete or inaccurate;
  • request that Ecopia delete your information, under certain conditions;
  • request that Ecopia restrict the processing of your information, or object to Ecopia’s processing of your information, under certain conditions; or
  • request that Ecopia transfers your information to you, or to another party, under certain conditions.
